Perseus (the Encore), and MM absorption hits ticktock

This is my favorite shot from the Carkeek Performances — Captured by the talented Terry Wallace. Thanks, Terry!

Miguel is resurrecting Perseus in the CoCA gallery just in time for the 18th Annual Art Marathon and Auction! We will be performing on the sculpture on Thursday at 7:30 and 8:30 and on Friday at 7:30.

Come on out, see the art, do the Artwalk thing and see for yourself if Miguel can actually pull off fitting the 21-foot-tall sculpture under the 18-foot-tall ceilings of the former Elliott Bay Bookstore. And then see for yourself how we level the place with aerial awesomeness.

You might also like to know that we have been working with our kick-ass soundscape engineer on original accompaniment. Yes, it’s true, Phil Petrocelli of Great Falls in in the proverbial house.

This changes everything.

Come see us!

In the meantime, efforts have begun in earnest for our new full-length work, set to open in June of 2011. Stay tuned for lots of movement in that direction beginning in January. It’s major, folks. Producer Clayton Hibbert (SEAF, Shine: The Burlesque Musical) has agreed to produce it, and we are close to nailing down a director (squee!). Cocktail napkin design sketches are beginning to appear in my jacket pockets, and soon, your donations will be 100% tax-deductible, thanks to the good people at Shunpike! Thus, it begins. We hope to debut some pieces in Moisture Festival in the spring, and possibly to present something at SEAF as well.

But let’s not get ahead of ourselves, because…

In other news, Jill has joined the cast of UNDER, Manifold Motion’s new project, set to debut in November at INScape. Manifold Motion is our big sister company and Bridget has been with them for quite some time. I auditioned in June and was cast as a soloist. Bridget is choreographing the show’s finale, and now Jill has come on as a member of the kick-ass ensemble. Trust me, you DO want to see what happens when Keely gets ahold of the three of us and turns us into fungus. Oh, yes. There will be dancing. Creepy, scary dancing.

See you soon,
Liza
